Description
A panel-mounted DO controller called the HI 8410 was created to be simple to use in a variety of industrial process applications. According to the selection switch on the back panel, the amount of dissolved oxygen is displayed in mg/L (ppm) or in percent of saturation. Between -5 and 50 °C can be used to measure the temperature. The effects of temperature on oxygen solubility and membrane permeability are automatically taken into account when testing for dissolved oxygen. Additionally, the salinity correction feature makes it possible to measure dissolved oxygen even in fluids with a high salt content.
The instruments include a number of auto-diagnostic functions and are built with a standard DIN panel mount, membrane keypads, and huge LCD displays with backlights on the front. On the rear panel, screw terminals are used to connect the probes, power source, contacts, and recorders.
A membrane protecting the galvanic sensor and a built-in thermistor for temperature measurement and correction are both included with the DO probe.
The oxygen concentration is calculated from the electric current flow that the oxygen causes to occur as it passes across the membrane. Other functions include overtime control function, hysteresis setting, recorder output in 0-20 mA or 4-20 mA configuration, LED indications that show whether the controller is in operating mode or setup selection mode. Two mounting brackets and a plastic front cover for the instrument are included. There are no power cables supplied.
