Hanna Instruments Compact Magnetic Mini-Stirrers with Electrode Holder – HI181
- electrode arm that is adjustable
- SpeedsafeTM technology
- programmable speed regulator
The test sample should ideally be mixed before electrochemistry measurements are conducted. A magnetic stirrer is used to ensure correct mixing and uniform temperature and consistency of the sample. A sensor’s response time can be sped up by swirling the sample to provide a steady reading.
Compact, colourful, and economical
Magnetic mini-stirrers in the HI181 series are lightweight and portable, making them simple to use in a lab setting. With these vibrant, space-saving stirrers, a lack of space on laboratory benchtops is no longer an issue. The eleven colours that are available on the HI181 mini-stirrers can aid the user in distinguishing between various samples, and multiple units can be placed simultaneously on the lab bench. Users at a distance are further assured that the stirrer is in use by power-indicating LED lights. Chemicals that are spilled accidentally won’t destroy the sturdy plastic coating. The HI181 magnetic stirrer has electronic controls that make it simple for the user to manage the speed with higher accuracy, making it cost-effective for customers that do not require the additional expenditure of a heating element.
Integrated Electrode Holder
The HI181 mini-stirrers’ movable electrode arm may accommodate up to three electrodes with a diameter of 12 mm or less. This feature enables the simultaneous performance and viewing of measurements on a single sample when used in conjunction with a multichannel meter. A Hanna temperature probe can be inserted into the electrode holder to get precisely adjusted readings for measurements requiring it.
Speedsafe™
In the lab, a sample is frequently taken out of a stirrer before the speed has been sufficiently slowed down. Normally, the internal motor would speed up until it was harmed. The SpeedsafeTM mechanism is built into the HI181 magnetic mini-stirrer to control speed in response to viscosity changes or the removal of a load. With SpeedsafeTM, the stirring speed is tracked by an Opto-sensor, which is connected to an FVC (frequency voltage converter). The voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) is turned off by the speed limiter when the speed reaches a certain maximum level, which reduces the motor speed. This prevents the motor from rapidly accelerating to a high speed that would be dangerous to both the operator and the stirrer when the load is quickly withdrawn from the stirrer, a characteristic not frequently present in conventional stirrers.
